The Istanbul branch of sendika.org news website was raided by the police due to an investigation against editor Ali Ergin Demirhan. The police entered the office at a time when no workers, officials or lawyers were present at the location and left the place after the search.
Demirhan has previously been taken into custody; on 20 April 2017 due to “attempting to legitimize referendum results” and again in May due to “making terrorist organization propaganda” with his social media posts and the news article published on the website with the headline, “We can stop dictatorship.” There are 61 access ban verdicts against the news website.
