An appeal by the journalist’s lawyers to a higher court to defer the sentence of imprisonment given to former Tatvan Mayor Emin Geylani’s bodyguards, police officer Engin Kaplan and boxer Yücel Baysalı, for the beating of journalist Sinan Aygül, was rejected.
