The Media Monitoring Report, published regularly every year since 2017 by Kaos GL Association, was shared with the public. According to the data of the report, which examined 4011 texts on LGBTQI+s in the print media throughout the year; LGBTQI+s were represented with a discriminatory language in 2161 news articles, interviews and columns, and hate speech was detected in 1249 texts. In 1148 texts, hate crimes were committed by targeting LGBTQI+ individuals or associations, institutions and organizations. In the report, it was determined that in line with the statements of the President and high-level public officials targeting LGBTQI+s in 2021, hostile policies were quickly introduced in the media, and anti-LGBTQI+ campaigns intensified in a systematic and organized manner.
