Dicle Fırat Journalists Association (DFG) launched the Rights Violations Against Journalists Report for May 2021. According to the data shared by the association, 18 journalists’ prosecution continued in 14 separate files in the one-month period, one journalist was penalised. An investigation was opened against one journalist and a lawsuit was filed against one journalist. Access bans were issued against seven news articles, 11 websites and 123 online media content. According to the report, at least 70 journalists were under arrest in May 2021.
