Although journalist Dursun Boran submitted a written statement in an investigation against him for his social media and news website content, the prosecutor’s office requested two arrest warrants on the grounds that he “did not give a statement”. The Criminal Judgeship of Peace rejected the prosecutor’s request at Istanbul Büyükçekmece Courthouse. The judge stated that no proper summons was sent and no law enforcement investigation was conducted. “Journalism is becoming increasingly risky,” Boran said.
