10 arrested defendants, including deputy mayors of Kartal and Ataşehir, who are on trial for allegedly infiltrating municipalities as part of the terrorist organization PKK/KCK’s “urban reconciliation” strategy, appeared before the judge at Istanbul 23rd High Criminal Court. The defendants denied the accusations. The court decided to continue detention and adjourned the hearing. The indictment alleged that the HDK was affiliated with the KCK/PKK and that the defendants had organic ties with these organizations. Each defendant faces up to 7 years and 6 months in prison.
