The hearing in the case of 45 people charged in connection with the protests in Saraçhane following the investigation against IBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was postponed to October 24, 2025. Lawyer Esin İzel Uysal stated that the defendants were not present at the scene of the crime and that the dates and evidence in the indictment were incorrect. Uysal emphasized that some of the defendants were made to testify without their private lawyers and that the right to a fair trial was violated. He said the trial process was carried out with the intention of punishing, not judging.
