The Ankara 22nd High Criminal Court took 13 months to prepare the reasoned verdict of the 32,600-page Kobanê Case and set the objection period as only 7 working days. DEM Party Legal Commission member Nuray Özdoğan said, “It is not possible to review a text of this volume in such a short time. The right to defense is being hindered, there is no concrete evidence in the case.” Stating that ECHR judgments are not being implemented, Özdoğan evaluated the case as “the process of liquidating HDP politically”. Touching on the peace process discussions, Özdoğan said, “These trials show that the government is not approaching peace.”
