The Scientific Committee of the Turkish Medical Association has prepared a report stating that Ayşe Barım, the manager arrested in the Gezi trial, cannot be kept in prison due to her serious health problems and that there is a risk of death. The report emphasized that diseases such as brain aneurysm, heart muscle disorder, and respiratory arrest during sleep trigger each other in prison and pose a life-threatening risk, and that the necessary treatments carry a high risk even in high-tech centers. It was stated that Barım should be able to receive treatment from physicians of his choice. The legal evaluation revealed that the detention was excessive and in violation of the right to health and the prohibition of torture, and that the conditions for release were met.
