Three people who were walking around the streets of Eskişehir making the sign of the cross with beer crates were detained on the orders of the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. The incident took place on the night of October 30 in the city center. After images of the individuals spread on social media, the Eskişehir Governor’s Office announced that proceedings had been initiated under the crime of “inciting the public to hatred and hostility or insulting them.” The Governor’s Office reported that the proceedings against the detained individuals were ongoing at the police station.
