The Ankara Regional Court of Appeals 22nd Criminal Chamber upheld the 6-year and 3-month prison sentences given to 7 journalists in a case involving 11 journalists. The court evaluated the news and digital materials as a “comprehensive chain of evidence” and considered them “proof of an organic link to the organization.” The sentences of Mezopotamya Agency reporters Diren Yurtsever, Selman Güzelyüz, Emrullah Acar, Zemo Ağgöz, JINNEWS News Director Öznur Değer, and journalists Deniz Nazlım and Hakan Yalçın were upheld, while the acquittals of Habibe Eren, Ceylan Şahinli, and Mehmet Günhan were finalized. The verdict against Berivan Altan was overturned, and the case was sent back to the Ankara 4th High Criminal Court for reconsideration. The ruling upheld the travel ban imposed on the journalists.
