In a bribery, embezzlement, and bid-rigging investigation coordinated by the Manavgat Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office concerning the municipality’s previous administration, three of the 19 suspects taken into custody were arrested, while 16 were released under judicial supervision. In previous stages of the investigation, former mayor Şükrü Sözen and his brother Fatih Sözen, along with eight other individuals, had been arrested. Another case involving former mayor Niyazi Nefi Kara as a defendant is ongoing.
