The Supreme Court sentenced former members of the 9th Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Appeals, Ahmet Toker, Abdurrahman Kavun, and Hamza Yaman, to 1 year, 10 months, and 15 days in prison for “chain abuse of office” on the grounds that they approved the decisions in the Balyoz case on the instructions of FETÖ. During the trial, the defendants denied the charges, while the plaintiff, retired Major General Bekir Memiş, stated that his right to a fair trial had been violated. Another defendant, Ekrem Ertuğrul, was acquitted, while the case of fugitive Fikriye Şentürk was separated.
