Approximately 100 students were poisoned due to expired food at the Muş Sultan Alparslan Women’s Student Dormitory. Following the incident, students protesting the situation were threatened with expulsion from the dormitory. Eğitim Sen stated that the poisonings were not isolated incidents and that what happened was a violation of public responsibility and students’ right to life. The union demanded an independent investigation into KYK dormitories, the prosecution of those responsible, and an end to the pressure on students.
