On the 12th anniversary of the Gezi Resistance, citizens gathered on Mis Street with the call of Taksim Solidarity. The statement read, “Let everyone know that the darkness goes and Gezi remains, imprisonment ends and struggle wins.” Berkin Elvan’s family also participated, and greetings were sent to Gezi prisoners. The police blockaded a group of people after the statement and kept members of the press away. At least 85 people were detained. Many riot police and detention vehicles were deployed to the protest area. “Human dignity will defeat torture” slogans were chanted. Detainees were taken to Vatan Security Directorate.
