Hundreds of videos and songs released by Grup Yorum between 2006 and 2024 are being censored on the grounds of “protection of national security and public order”. Previously, at least 454 videos with a total of 205 million views on 56 different channels on YouTube were blocked, and now many of Grup Yorum’s songs and albums on Spotify cannot be accessed. Users report that some songs are deleted after a few seconds and the Spotify page is inaccessible. Growing reactions on social media bring the comprehensive censorship of Grup Yorum to the agenda.
