Mardin Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Türk had been acquitted of the charges that led to his removal from office. While he was expected to return to his post, the Ministry of Interior extended the term of Mardin Governor and trustee Tuncay Akkoyun for another two months.
Responding to questions from the press after his acquittal, Ahmet Türk said, “We have no such expectation” regarding his return to office.
