At the hearing held on February 16, 2026, at the Adana 11th Heavy Penal Court, the prosecution requested that lawyer Şiar Rişvanoğlu be punished on charges of “being a member of an armed terrorist organization.” The indictment prepared by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office alleged that Rişvanoğlu was involved in the social sphere of the PKK/KCK. Witness Merdan Rüştü Ovalıoğlu withdrew his previous statement; however, the prosecution presented its opinion based on the police statement. The court postponed the hearing until April 10, 2026, to allow for a defense against the opinion.
