The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office sent its report on the CHP to the Supreme Court Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. The report alleged that the CHP misused public resources in its election campaign, acquired assets for the party with criminal proceeds, processed personal data unlawfully, and attempted to manipulate the election process.
The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office stated that these allegations should be evaluated within the scope of Articles 68 and 69 of the Constitution and Articles 101 et seq. of the Political Parties Law.
These articles stipulate that political parties possessing assets obtained through unlawful means and engaging in activities that violate the democratic order constitute “grounds for closure.”
