The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) rejected Turkey’s request for the Grand Chamber to re-examine the ruling on human rights violations and release concerning Selahattin Demirtaş. Thus, the ECHR’s July 8, 2025 ruling on Demirtaş became final. The DEM Party’s Central Executive Board stated, “Our friends must be released without delay.” Demirtaş, emphasizing that the decision is legally binding, issued a message highlighting the importance of the “law of brotherhood” covering 86 million citizens and calling for issues to be resolved through common sense.
