Public laborers are staging a work stoppage today against the government’s low raise offer. However, TCDD Tasimacilik AŞ, in official letters sent to its staff, used threatening statements and announced that disciplinary proceedings will be initiated against those who participate in the strike.
In letters sent on August 16 and 17, TCDD said that employees “absolutely must not participate in the action”. It also stated that managers would closely monitor employees and identify those who participated in the protest.
The unions had decided to stop work, stating that the government’s low raise offer during the collective bargaining process was unacceptable.
