Emrullah Turanlı, owner of Taşyapı İnşaat, filed a complaint against BirGün writer Gözde Bedeloğlu, accusing her of “insult, slander, spreading misleading information to the public, and inciting the public to hatred and hostility.”
The investigation was based on Bedeloğlu’s article titled “Taşyapı Can’t Be Touched,” published on September 19, 2025. In his petition, Turanlı described himself as “a respected businessman and father of five children.”
Bedeloğlu stated in his testimony that he was doing journalism, saying, “It is the duty of a journalist to convey current debates to the public.”
Turanlı had previously appealed to RTÜK due to criticism of the company’s projects, and Halk TV was fined. He had also been in the news due to allegations of bribery against İBB bureaucrats and accusations of being a “member of an organization.”
