The Taksim Solidarity, consisting of 128 elements with chambers of the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB), NGOs, unions, associations and cooperatives, organized a press statement on the indictment against the Gezi Park protests.
The statement indicated that the indictment, charging Osman Kavala and 15 rights advocates with “plotting, planning, making influential espionage with provocative social media posts and directing violent incidents,” was written without any concrete basis and with a complete inspiration from conspiracy theories. It was further pointed out that the government, which makes both the law and justice political matters, attempts to use this case as a tool to silence social opposition.
