At least 15 students who participated in the March 19 protests at METU were called by the Ministry of Interior to testify. According to the students, the calls were made on the grounds of the “Law No. 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations”.
During the protest organized at METU on March 25, students marched to the A1 gate and faced a police barricade. After negotiations, they were told that the blockade would be lifted and the protest was ended. However, in the following days the blockade was not lifted and police violence continued.
Students are now being summoned to testify for participating in this protest.
