Established to decide on the objections against dismissals from public service and shut down institutions within the State of Emergency declared after the coup attempt in 2016, the State of Emergency Applications Monitoring Commission has concluded 17 thousand applications so far.
The commission is considered an “effective domestic remedy” by the European Court of Human Rights. A total of 108,905 applications were made at the commission; whereas 14,350 applications were denied since December 22. The commission decided for only 660 to be reassigned their jobs.
