Six people were detained in Adana on January 14 as part of an investigation launched following protests against the attacks on Aleppo. Those detained were referred to court on charges of “making organization propaganda,” “violating Law No. 2911,” and “endangering traffic safety.” Devran Şimşek, Nazar Bulut, and Umut Yağan were arrested, while three others were released under judicial supervision. In the same investigation, five more people, including a child, were detained during house raids in Seyhan. Four of the 14 people detained on January 11 for participating in protests in the Silopi, Cizre, and İdil districts of Şırnak were arrested. Two children were among those arrested. Lawyers filed a criminal complaint against the police on the grounds that the detained children were mistreated.
