Labor Party (EMEP) MP Sevda Karaca appealed to the Ministry of Justice, stating that prisoners and convicts in “well-type” prisons are subjected to severe rights violations. Karaca drew attention to the critical health conditions of Serkan Onur Yılmaz on death fast and Ali Aracı on indefinite hunger strike. Yılmaz, who has been on hunger strike for 324 days, cannot stand up and his body is covered with wounds, while Aracı, who has dropped to 42 kilograms, has difficulty breathing. Karaca added letters sent by prisoners and their families to his application and demanded the closure of such prisons and an end to inhumane practices.
