Dicle Müftüoğlu’s appeal against the decision to block access to her X account upon the request of the police was rejected. Although the Constitutional Court annulled the provision authorizing the police to close social media accounts in 2020, the “virtual patrol” practice continues. Diyarbakır 5th Criminal Judgeship of Peace rejected Müftüoğlu’s appeal against the decision of the 1st Criminal Judgeship of Peace, finding it “in accordance with the procedure and law”. Müftüoğlu will apply to the Constitutional Court through his lawyer and claim that his freedom of expression has been violated.
