Sedat Peker has targeted and threatened “those who called President Erdoğan a ‘dictator’” during a programme organized in Üsküdar last year on the anniversary of July 15th coup attempt. Peker, who is a convict of “leadership of criminal organization,” was acquitted in the lawsuit he was on trial due to this speech.
Istanbul Anatolian 41st Criminal Court of First Instance decided that the speech of Peker “does not constitute the crime” of ‘public incitement to commit crimes.’ “We will hang whoever felt an affinity for them, taken steps together with them or hasn’t separated their ways from them, on the nearest flag poles,” Peker had stated, referring to people who call the President a ‘dictator.’
