Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched a second wave operation within the Can Holding investigation. Detention warrants were issued for 35 people, 26 people were arrested. Among those detained are Ciner Yayın Holding Chairman Kenan Tekdağ, former Bilgi University Rector Remzi Sanver, Şakir Can and Murat Can’s wives Betül and Zühal Can. Simultaneous operations were carried out in Mersin, Iğdır, Izmir and Istanbul as part of the investigation. According to the MASAK report, Can Holding and 121 related companies were found to have realized 88 billion TL of money movements of unknown origin between 2020-2021. The prosecutor’s office announced that the investigation continues with allegations of organized tax evasion and money laundering.
