The Constitutional Court ruled that urban planner Tayfun Kahraman’s right to a fair trial was violated in the Gezi trial. Despite the dissenting votes of five members, the majority ruling sent the case to Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court for retrial. The Constitutional Court also drew attention to the contradiction between previous acquittals in the Gezi protests and the current verdict.
