The third hearing of the trial of journalist Mehmet Üçar, who is charged with “being a member of an organization” due to his articles published in Yeni Özgür Politika and PolitikArt, was held at the Batman 2nd Heavy Penal Court. While Üçar did not attend the hearing, his lawyer Şirin Şen was present. The prosecution requested that Üçar be punished and that his ban on leaving the country be continued, citing his articles and the magazines found in his home as grounds. Lawyer Şen stated that they did not agree with the opinion and requested time for the main defense. The court accepted the request for time and postponed the hearing to April 3 at 9:10 a.m.
