UAV reporter Sebahattin Yum, whose news report titled “Umbrellas for the governor, but not for veterans” during the Veterans Day ceremony in Iğdır, was detained.
During the ceremony, Governor Ercan Turan was protected with an umbrella in the rain, while the veterans got wet, which caused reactions.
After the incident, it drew attention that the umbrellas in the area were collected.
The journalist who reported the news was taken into custody by Iğdır Security Directorate Security Branch teams to take his statement.
The incident brought the debate on press freedom back to the agenda.
