A verdict was given for Selçuk Tengioğlu, who attacked CHP Chairman Özgür Özel with a fist at the exit of AKM. At the 44th Criminal Court of First Instance, Tengioğlu was sentenced to 1 year in prison on the charge of “intentional injury due to public duty” and was released. Özel’s lawyer Sedat Aslantaş and CHP Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın reacted to the verdict. Aslantaş reminded that Tengioğlu had been tried for the murder of his two children in the past and expressed their surprise at the release. Günaydın said, “The criminal who attacked our chairman is free, but no steps have been taken against his instigators.”
