During a period when the Turkish government emphasized its rhetoric of “peace” and “normalization,” courts continued to reject the cases of the Peace Academics, who were expelled from universities for signing a peace declaration, as of December 29. Academic Mutlu Aslan shared the judicial balance sheet covering the period 2016–2025, revealing that approximately 400 academics had been expelled, while only four definitive reinstatement decisions had been issued. According to the shared data, administrative courts issued rejection decisions in 184 cases and acceptance decisions in 170 cases, while numerous cases remained unresolved. The academics reiterated their demands for justice, emphasizing that the expulsions were a violation of freedom of expression and academic freedom.
