As part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, house raids were carried out against the Socialist Party of the Oppressed in Istanbul and several other cities, and 12 people were detained. Police teams detained İsmet Yurtsever, Muhammed Bedran Çoğaltay, İbrahim Gerçek, Zeynep Gerçek, Selvinaz Göçmez, Mustafa Naci Toper, Ezgi Bahçeci, Deniz Bahçeci, Serhad Demirtaş, Gül Sağlık, Cansu Akkaş, and Ömer Sinan Yıldız during the raids carried out in the morning hours. In a statement, the ESP said the detentions were politically motivated and demanded the immediate release of those detained.
