Şaban Vatan, the father of 11-year-old Rabia Naz Vatan, who died under suspicious circumstances, surrendered to Espiye Open Prison due to the one-year and eight-month prison sentence he received as a result of the lawsuit filed by former AKP deputy Nurettin Canikli. Vatan had claimed that his daughter was run over with a car by the nephew of the AKP mayor of Eynesil and that the incident was covered up by Canikli. She said she will continue to fight for justice for her daughter.
