Karşıyaka Imam Hatip Secondary School Principal Mustafa Girgin was transferred to another school following an investigation into allegations of eating at an alcoholic restaurant during a school trip. Eğitim-İş Union described the transfer decision as “exile”. The union said the investigation lacked concrete evidence and was carried out under political pressure and for ideological reasons. Eğitim-İş President Kadem Özbay stated that Mustafa Girgin was targeted because of his Kemalist stance and that the decision to transfer him was an attack on meritorious administrators.
