360 workers of the Belediye-İş union, who were dismissed from their jobs at Izmir Metropolitan Municipality subsidiaries İZDOĞA, İZBETON and İZULAŞ, wanted to attend the Municipality Assembly meeting as part of their 6-day-long resistance, but the police intervened. The workers marched to Kültürpark and staged a sit-in in front of the building where the meeting was to be held. Branch President Savaş Atalay protested the unjustified dismissals and addressed Mayor Cemil Tugay. Police took precautions during the march.
