Mardin Governorate has announced that all protests and demonstrations to be organized within the province until the end of the year were bound to permission by the local administration with the condition to inform the administration of the event at least 48 hours before due to “providing the public order, peace and security.” The Governorate further threatened those who don’t abide by the decision and those continuing to violate the decision despite warnings will face legal repercussions. The local administration has given his decision due to intangible reasons and is neglecting the Constitution as well; for the Article 34 of the Turkish Constitution states, “Everyone has the right to organize an unarmed and non-violent meeting and demonstration without prior permission.”
