Safiye Yaşa, who lost her daughter and son-in-law in the 2023 flood disaster in İğneada, Kırklareli, was sentenced to two days of disciplinary detention for reacting against the court panel during the October 16 hearing of the “Misty Valley” case. After the verdict, Yaşa collapsed and was hospitalized. His lawyers appealed the verdict. In the same case, the owner was sentenced to 18 years in prison, two defendants were sentenced to 7 years and 6 months each, and one defendant was acquitted. The decision, which drew reaction, was lifted upon the petition of Yaşa’s lawyer. Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç is also interested in the issue.
