Kızıltepe Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office initiated an investigation against JINNEWS News Director Öznur Değer due to “resisting an officer on duty”. Değer gave a statement at Kızıltepe Security Directorate with her lawyer. In her statement, Değer said that during the police raid on February 7, she was tortured, her door was broken with a battering ram, her throat was strangled and she was threatened with death. Following his criminal complaint against the police officers, Değer said that this investigation was “a continuation of a revenge operation”. His mother and sister were also investigated under the same file. Value has denied all charges.
