The verdict was delivered for Muhammet Eren Sütçü, who was on trial for the armed attack against HDP Bahçelievler District Organization. Bakırköy 18th Assize Court sentenced Sütçü to 13 months and 3 days for “intentional injury”, 3 years 1 month and 15 days for “threatening with a weapon” and 6 months and 7 days for “insult”. However, the announcement of the verdict was deferred, so Sütçü will not go to prison. HDP lawyer Ferdi Yamar argued that the attack should be considered as an attempt to kill and targeted social peace. The defendant claimed remorse and asked for his acquittal.
