Conscientious objector Cemal Karakuş was sentenced once again in cases where he has been tried several times with the same accusation. Çorum 3rd Criminal Court of First Instance sentenced Karakuş to a total of 10 months in prison, two sentences of 5 months each. The sentence was converted into a judicial fine. Karakuş still has 6 individual applications pending before the Constitutional Court. Karakuş, who attended the hearing via SEGBİS from Gökçeada, claimed that he is a conscientious objector and demanded his acquittal. However, the court ruled without taking into account the European Court of Human Rights rulings. The verdict, which imposed a judicial fine of 6 thousand TL in total, will be appealed.
