Murat K. was sentenced to 10 months of imprisonment due to a social media post on Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, in which he used the expression, “The greatest demon the 20th century has ever seen.” Malatya 5th Criminal Court of First Instance deferred the announcement of the sentence issued due to “public insult against the memory of Atatürk.”
