The Antalya Branch of the Lawyers for Freedom Association released its report on human rights violations in Antalya, Manavgat, Burdur, and Alanya prisons between June and December 2025 on December 30. Mehmet Baran Sarı, a member of ÖHD, said that access to hospitals for sick prisoners was deliberately blocked and that shackled examinations, oral searches, and isolation practices were widespread. Sarı noted that hospital transfers were not carried out for months, emergency endoscopy, dental and heart treatments were delayed, medications were not administered for weeks, and regular check-ups for chronic patients were not conducted. The report stated that handcuffs were not removed during examinations, prisoners who refused this were sent back to prison without being examined, and the gendarmerie exerted pressure on doctors. ÖHD stated that prisoners held in solitary confinement in high-security prisons were deprived of social activities, that Kurdish letters were censored, that certain newspapers and books were not provided, and that there were allegations of torture involving handcuffs, beatings, and threats in Burdur Prison.
