Police teams in Izmir conducted house raids on December 24 on the grounds that individuals had participated in “Close the Wells” protests and campaign activities. Numerous people from various socialist organizations were detained. Umut-Sen announced that its member Tuğçe Kızıldemir had been detained. The Socialist Struggle Initiative announced that nine of its members had been detained. It was also reported that members of TAYAD had been detained.
