The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation on December 24 into certain social media posts related to the plane crash that killed Libyan Chief of Staff Muhammad Ali Ahmed Al Haddad and seven others. The Prosecutor’s Office announced that it had initiated proceedings on the grounds that “false posts” had been made following the crash. It was reported that the Falcon 50 aircraft crashed near Haymana after taking off from Esenboğa, and that official statements regarding the crash were ongoing.
