The decision of non-prosecution against Mesut Kızmaz, who attacked Rûdaw TV representative Maşallah Dekak and cameraman Mehmet Kanevi in Diyarbakır, was lifted. A lawsuit was filed against the defendant on charges of “threat” and “insult”, demanding up to 4 years in prison. Diyarbakır 12th Criminal Court of First Instance accepted the indictment and scheduled a hearing for October 22, 2025. Dekak said that he was targeted after the attack and that he was following the news without safety.
