The first hearing of the case against presenter Boğaç Soydemir, who was arrested for his joke on YouTube’s “Cold War” channel, and Enes Akgündüz, who laughed at his remarks, did not result in any release. The court ruled for the continuation of detention for both names. The indictment of Soydemir and Akgündüz was prepared in one day and the first hearing was held on October 1. The duo is being held in pre-trial detention on charges of “public incitement to hatred and hostility”.
